I don't think so, not this year. A lot of folks didn't see this new spike happening it almost came out nowhere, and they skipped out on this outdoor season. The folks who are going this batch are the people who survived, and are going to want to turn a profit. If the prices stay where they are for a year, you may see some old faces re-enter the market which will drive supply up and prices down, but I don't expect that for 1-2 more years at best. A ton of folks lost there life savings jumping into this when it became legal, and they aren't coming back regardless.

Depends on what your after weed wise. The last few years has been the absolute lowest quality (everything) that has been around. I'm glad I grow and extract, or I'd probably quit smoking with the stuff thats on the market. That insane quality smallish medical grows just don't exist anymore, because the price isn't there. Nobody can take the time to properly purge oil, cure flower, etc. Its pretty bad. Increased price usually means increased quality as people can afford to do it right, not cut product, or take short cuts. If people were able to buy lbs at 3200+ 5 years ago and make money, they'll be able to at least pay 2000-2400 now. You can only grow weed so cheaply, and is that really something you'd want to consume or sell? The shit was boarderline unhealthy to even consume.
This.

The price rise happened ~Feb. Plants for this current grow season needed to be started in Dec, when prices were at their lowest. So the rise in price didn't signal the market in time for this growing season. Its just the people growing who were already planning on growing.

If prices stay high all year then we can expect a ton more people to grow next year.

decemeber? that is way too early to be in the ground. maybe deps. but no one is putting outs up that early. people don't go into the ground till april, may and some even as late as june and of course indoor well it doesnt matter. but i digress. this drought sucks but prices should be coming down late july when a bunch of deps will be popping off and then of course the great relief will come in the fall like it does every year. i don't know if prices will go as low as they did in 2018 but i think you will be safe to assume prices will be considerably lower then.

People start plants indoor in pots before moving them out into larget pots. I started mine In january in 25 gallon pots, moved em out in late April into 400 gallon pots, they were already like 3 feet tall and 6 feet wide by then. Pretty much the only way your going to be pulling 7-10 lb per plants is the early start. If you just pop em outside as babies, it'll be late april/early may (depending when your last frost is) but you'll get like 2 lbs per plant. If you want a huge crop, your starting them early feb indoors at the absolute latest.

of course. i thought he meant straight in the ground. still very early for us regradless. we usually prep them in feb- march and set them in late may. we still get snow in early may. so it depends on where you are located i suppose.
What DrReefer said. I'm surprised you don't already know this.

Big grow ops either produce their own clones, and grow to 'teens'. Or source them elsewhere. This is done after the fall harvest, so plants are as tall/large and established as possible before being put into the ground come spring.

Since the prices didn't start going crazy until Feb/March the people who would have grown more to prepare for the next season didn't receive that information soon enough. There was no way to seriously impact the coming grow season from that price information.

Sure maybe more indoor will be grown, but that is a drop in the ocean. The only way the supply/demand curve can be effected is via the outdoor grows.
From what I heard and read, more and more houses are getting raided in cali so the indoor growers need to minimize their electricity use which means less of a yeild but because the yeild is smaller, they need to raise the prices to make up for the less flowers they grow. I could be wrong but thats basically the gist of what is going on.
theyre bringing in the national gaurd to cut down crops. Flying planes daily . all illegal grows up north are getting chopped. Only ones that will stay are the growers that are licensed and they have to sell to clubs. Prices of light dep are going up causing indoor to also go up in price. Croptober is going to be shitty and scarce. The brokers buying 100+ are going to get taxed and so will wherever that weed ends up at. Best bet is to find someone in orgeon but its going to be boof
