TAILS OS QUESTION : OpSec | Torhoo darknet markets

Might be a silly question, im still new to all this.

I keep getting "no wifi hardware detected" when trying to connect to a network. I disabled mac anonymization and that fixed it. My question is how unsafe is this and would investing on a wifi adapter be worth it?
Thanks.
OK, my guess is that your computer is new with a WiFi chipset that is not fully compatible. Do not disable the mac anonymization, your computer will be traceable.

I suggest that you remove the WiFi (or turn it off in BIOS/UEFI) and as you write, buy an USB WiFi-adapter instead. This should work.
Tails uses 6.1.x kernel which does not support many of the newer Wifi cards and drivers.

I attempted to do this for multiple hours. Although it MAY be possible, I'll save you the trouble and not to bother.

Is your WiFi card even being detected by Tails? Do you see wireless networks?
You can run "lspci | grep Network" from the Terminal

If it's not being detected,
I'll just tell you now and save you the hours of struggle I attempted myself -

Trying to get a WiFi device that is not supported in Kernel 6.1.x in Tails is a waste of time.

1. Get another USB WiFi card
2. Get a cheap extender that has Ethernet that duplicates as a wireless bridge and plug this into Ethernet (Assuming you have Ethernet and it's working properly in Tails) - I had one laying around
3. Encrypted Debian USB drive that does support your WiFi card natively and install Whonix

The only time I would say otherwise if it's an Alfa with support like /post/398513105cb099db73e7/#c-7b0edfc77e46707484

Buy a Panda Wireless PAU0A AC600 Dual Band (2.4GHz and 5GHz) Wireless AC USB Adapter or Panda Wireless Ultra WiFi (b/g/n) 150Mbps Wireless-N 2.4GHz USB Adapter

They're cheap, $20-$30

All you have to do is connect it to your usb port and you should now be able to connect to any wifi connection you're around.
