Trouble accessing tor with tails : Tor | Torhoo darknet markets

Hi,

I'm making this post because I can't manage to access tor on tails OS when I'm on a public WiFi (coffee shop, library, etc...). I know the solution isn't using unsafe browser because some of the WiFi I tried required a password and I'm pretty sure my clock isn't the issue too. The WiFi's owner is probably blocking access to tor so I tried using a custom bridge and that didn't work either. My last option (from what I saw) is to use a v..p..n before trying to access tor but I don't know how to do that on tails. If anyone knows something that can help, it would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

Don't use the unsafe browser more than for getting internet access and to verify you got internet access.
If Tor fails to connect you can try obfs4 with a default bridge. If that also fails then you know that the WiFi you use is censored.

Try another public WiFi or as you suggest use a VPN. VPN and Tails are not friends, easiest way around this issue is to use a router with built in VPN (but bought products with VPN are not safe). A better option is to install KickSecure/Whonix where you configure a VPN in KickSecure. This will make the Whonix gateway to route all traffic through the VPN and then to Tor.
