Upcoming Changes to OpSec | A fun read, possibily | And ... Some Serious Matters As Well : OpSec | Torhoo darknet markets

Before you read any further here is your disclaimer:

I promise you everything written was by a serious person "trying" to be funny.
No intentions of insulting or hurting anyone was meant.

The three people:

Will bend over backwards to help you EVEN if your post is meant for another subdread.

The dumbest one is on top.
The middle one has a heart of gold.
The one listed last is made of lasers.

I realize that everyone is in a hurry.
And I have "polled" that not many people understand "why" we do the things we do.

"The dumbest one is on top." This was an example of fake news and anyone who believes everything that they read on dread needs to immediately delete their account and start over again on reddit. Good opsec means analyzing everything that you read and weighing the evidence supportive or contrary to it before accepting it as fact. If unsure then do more research.

Al Capone, the Mafia, every criminal organization, major executives and wealthy persons, avoid paying taxes.

But even street and prison gangs have a rule: you snitch, you die.

You sell out your country, you are no longer welcomed, backed up, protected by what once your country.
If captured by the enemy, your former country is not coming for you.
Forever you will be seen as a sell-out.
Had you any stars, you will be stripped of their honor.

You sell out your country, you are no longer welcomed, backed up, protected by what once your country.

Unless you steal state secrets, store them in your Florida mansion, and try to get your supporters to riot and overturn your election loss.

THAT gets you elected again.
Several decades ago there was a loner, a true loner who couldn't make a single friend, who tried to sell his paintings on the sidewalk to make rent and would often be late. Somehow this loner went on to become the face and voice of a nation, celebrated like a hero, worshiped like God and won over the minds and hearts of every man, woman and child. Strange things happen to people when they are in crowds. And even stranger is how quickly they forget what had happened to them as a person.

Edit: Or maybe just a too nice person
Can't be beloved of them all.
Offending others is a waste of time and energy.

When actually investing time answering any of that 95%+ retarded white noise I´ll rather settle with the exact counterpart of your aforementioned mindset.

lolol the comment about people wishing Bohemia would come back "you have not fully grasped the intrinsic nature of where you are" is hilarious and sad. The darknet breeds scammers, and just bc you're "in on the DN" doesn't make you safe from them! quite the opposite with scammers and LE alike. Good stuff!

Edit: Post: "XMR to Market"

‣ It better be from your wallet.

was my post about cryptotracing monero LMAO. respectable burn.

i've thought deep on reasons why people can't get out of their own way nor apply basic if-then strategies to their daily lives. posts like this, while comical, only further point out a cancer that is growing in recent culture, especially in dealing with anything "darknet" related. common sense just isn't that common these days...
Two years ago, we were a lot smarter as a group. We have to take account that elders left, intellectuals left and a cell phone generation arrived.

We will keep repeating the same messages and explain WHY until it hits home.

100% tracks

human behavior/error is a pivotal aspect of not just opsec or infosec, but security as a whole. you just can't patch stupid and sadly, when convenience comes into play, it will win every time. even worse so, there are those of us that know better but fight as we may... eventually succumb to it as well.

the only medicine for the sickness, is education. Now which path you take to learn those lessons is different for many, sadly most learn the hard way.
This was SO beautiful, I had to save it. Gorgeous.

Nothing really changed though. Dread is mostly still a perpetual dump of feces which I´d put at 90% of traffic by now. And people leaving an environment mirroring the Dead Sea when one would exchange the salt with feces are a logical consequence.

Glass half full:

To this day everything of that is somehow not a given eternal fact but rather actively enabled by choice.

Glass half empty:

Out of various reasons reducing content by 80+% will never be an option.
There is a lot of sad I could bring up. Better I don't.

great write up. Made me laugh. Good info tho.

Would love to see an official "advanced" opsec section (updated in the Bible) For the masses who dont check this sub as often as others when in reality its one of the top threads here IMO.

Be safe everyone and take the ability to increase all our safety - SERIOUSLY. This enviroment we all love and adore has been built by sacrificers. No way around it. For this we all should at the very least be grateful.

Great work as always by all the g's...
Thank you very much, /u/mcclayton. The only real question is I really wonder if it's two or three percent that even read through the DN Bible.

This subdread is the living "advanced" version. There can never be an advanced version of the Bible. Someone just ordered drugs and they need it to arrive yesterday, so it's already late.

I sure hope its more than 2-3%. All that work and forethought to NOT be ingested and implemented would be just sad
I read parts of the DN Bible recently and realized what was going on.

Not one part of it mentions "WHY".

/u/mcclayton use encryption!
/u/mcclayton here is how to install Tails!
/u/mcclayton here is Bitcoin and Monero.

Never a single explanation.

Maybe it's a ritual?
Maybe it's a form of darknet respect?

And then some strange character like me comes along and asks /u/mcclayton, what are some one the points of a Canary?

/u/mcclayton don't run red lights. "Yeah, I heard it's like $500." "No, because when the linear of x and y intersect abruptly, the kinetic energy of the impact will do serious and grave bodily damage. The ambulance ride alone will cost 10 x that of $500.

And I can't blame you with a book that was an instructional copy and paste.

But if the universe allows me, we may be making a first-person-perspective revision.

I will probably get downvoted for this but the analytical skills of an average dread user is just awful. Maybe stop doing drugs?
You need to target your last sentence.
But you are correct, this place will be your heart if you are looking for logical reasoning.
I would even trade in "analytical" for "introspective". Dread is fueled by hunger, and the insatiable appetite is a dangerous one.

About the VPN, I only use or launch tor browser with VPN one and changed to another location. Always close everything, change the location open tor.

The reason I do this is because I don't want the LE to correlate my browsing tor and the package that is coming to my address. So, no of the "oh, you were connected to tor and a week later this shipment was coming to your address, weird isn't?" kind of problem.
I wish I could say "you bring up a good point" but that is way too imaginary.

And, for "that" to take place in one week is beyond astonishing.

Aside from that, your Internet Service Provider is well aware of the fact that you use Tor and a VPN.

And using that VPN is what will be the evidence used against you, not Tor.

But this isn't even hypothetical, it's not even paranoid, it's not fantasy either. It's just ... like you read a bunch of crime thrillers and believed them and didn't realize that the same actor played in a romantic comedy a few months later.

"Law Enforcement can make numerous mistakes. We can't afford to make one."

Most folks simply do not appreciate the wisdom of this statement. Being error free in covering your tracks can be very difficult, especially as you start adding layers and layers of security and identity. Trying to transition from your prior online life into a new online life is fraught with risks. A number of people sitting in the bing can attest to that.

To this I would add 'you are often not as slick as you think you are.'
No, I have to keep it real. I cannot sugarcoat it. *I* am imperfect. *I* make more mistakes than I can count.

But when I'm here I have to .... holy shit ... there was a movie that was nominated for six academy awards, named The Hurt Locker about an "Iraq War Explosive Ordnance Disposal team".

When I'm here I have to be mindful of my every step. There are many people right now, of course, in prison, who have adopted a similar kind of psychology. Not nearly, nowhere as close to what I am talking about because for them the psychological stress is 24/7 and ends in real violence or death, daily. For them there are many unwritten rules that nobody takes the time to tell them. There are people there with nothing to lose just waiting to make their mark.

Here, a lot of people feel that because they are behind behind a computer, comfy and cozy in their own place makes this safe and kind of like fun game. That means they lack the true awareness of where they are and do not respect it for what it is.

They login to their email in one browser and use Tor at the same, oblivious of what that just did for to them.

Anyone trying to be slick gets hurt somewhere down their path in life, I guess, if anything, I am here to remind people of the basics and the reality and not worry about their feelings but their safety.

I'm not reading all that but is tails, pgp, and monero still the way to go or is that changing?
PGP at the TOP of the Pyramid.
Monero and nothing but Monero.
I think Whonix is easier than Tails.

Please, I am begging you, because of my opsec, and future dark net market (I will make one really soon), if not any vpn, if not any proxy or anything realted to tor, what should we get to protect our IP adresses like a black-hat hacker does?
And I do have on BIG exmaple: JIA TAN (XZ UTIL BACKDOOR).
I do remember big name in the hacktivism community, that do this kind of stuff, and they get VPN's, how come they did not get caught by the police?
What can we do to protect ourselves from the feds, and the police, ofc, if we will only use TOR to protect ourselves?
I know that I need the networking fundamentals uderstanding, which I am learning since 1st December.
Should we ever trust Mullvad, IVPN, why/why not?
I really need those answers, today, when I was at school, I constantly had this in my head, to message you about this stuff, I just am desperate about it.
Thank you!!
