[Vendors] vs [Buyers] vs [Usps] : DarkNetMarkets | Torhoo darknet markets

Dear Everyone,

We know this is very exciting to be ordering on the https://torhoo.cc/go.php?u=TDJRdlJHRnlhMDVsZEUxaGNtdGxkSE09# and understand that delayed orders may cause anxiety. So we wanted to outline the different reasons a package may be delayed [from Usps]. When fear comes from the unknown, arm yourself with knowledge!

1. Delivery Attempt Made: The delivery driver may have attempted to deliver the package but was unable to do so for various reasons, such as:
No one was home to receive the package.
The delivery location was inaccessible (e.g., a locked gate or driveway).

2. Receiver Denied Package: The recipient may have refused the package upon delivery attempt, which could happen if they no longer wanted the item or if there were issues with the order.

3. Delivery Rescheduled: The delivery may have been rescheduled for another day due to unforeseen circumstances, such as bad weather or vehicle issues.

4. Package Misplaced or Lost: There could be a logistical issue where the package was misplaced or lost after being marked as out for delivery.

5. Technical Error: Sometimes, tracking systems can have glitches or errors that result in incorrect status updates. The package may still be on its way but not properly reflected in the tracking system.

6. Returned to Facility: If the delivery attempt was unsuccessful, the package might have been returned to the local distribution center for further processing.

7. Awaiting Further Instructions: In some cases, the delivery service may be waiting for further instructions from the sender or recipient regarding how to proceed with the delivery.

We hope this helps! <3

Love,
Team SnowBunni

P.S. If you are patient enough the package will always land 99.9% of the time. ;)

I'm not here to bash anyone but the "delays" vendors talk about, are rarely ever that serious. In my DECADE of ordering from the markets, my first order being XanaxKing2 from Silk Road...there has never been a serious delay. It has never taken more than 7 days to get a package from when it was actually picked up.

Now there is one major problem that I have with vendors and that's the status of "Label Created". Seriously, if a vendor is stuck on this status...guys, it's likely that they are not dropping it off. Let me explain;

Blue boxes are collected EVERY SINGLE DAY. They have the times they are collected RIGHT ON THE BOX. When they get picked up from the box, they are scanned while they are entering the truck. There is a virtual ZERO chance that they just "didn't collect the box". If you want, call the fucking post office nearest to the zip code on the package and just ask "Did you guys collect blue boxes today?" and I guarantee it will be collected that day if it hasn't already. They have a dedicated team that solely collects blue boxes.

Vendors, drop your fucking packages off. Customers, stop giving your money to vendors that sit on packages for a damn week. Customers, understand sometimes shit is out of the vendors control.

To add to this. Some blue boxes are picked up multiple times a day. The mail will never be collected before the time it states so if it says 2pm it will not be collected earlier. The carrier must scan a bar code inside the blue box at time of pick up and if it is scanned earlier then a manager or post master must go back out with the carrier to check for missed mail that may have been put in since the early scan.

Not all blue boxes are picked up by a dedicated team that only does that. Some routes have blue boxes that are collected by the carrier delivering that route.

The protocol is to scan all packages from the blue box as they are going in to the mail truck but that doesn't always happen and to be honest it rarely happens on busy routes. The carrier will pick up the mail and scan the barcode in the box and just throw everything in the truck. Then it goes to the post office where it is sorted into bins separating letter mail from packages. Then on to trucks and to the sorting plant where letters get photographed for informed delivery and packages get scanned for sorting. This is where a lot of packages end up getting scanned for the first time.

But yeah, blue boxes get picked up every day at or very near the time stated, never before the time.

Well said, Sam. Even with clearnet packages, they often get missed unless dropped directly at the P.O. If that initial 'Acceptance Scan' is missed, you’ll either catch the next scan at the distribution hub, but from what I've seen over the years, it most likely updates once it reaches the destination distribution hub or 'Out for Delivery' from 'Label Created.'

Love these open conversation!

Completely agree with you here. Vendors using this excuse either have crazy congestion at their local distribution centers and/or are missing scans, or as you said, not dropping it at all. We currently are experiencing 1–4 T2D (depending on location of course).

With that being said,

Informed Delivery is not always accurate and can take time to update between scans. For example, if your package misses the initial "Acceptance Scan," you will likely not see an update from "Label Created" until the package is at your local distribution center, local post office, or even out for delivery.

There are plenty of clearnet sites to see if there is congestion at the departing or receiving distribution center. Cough Cough USPS complaints.

With that being said, I am seeing a lot of touchdowns within 1–3 days, and always remember it just takes one person at the initial distribution center to sort a package into the wrong pile.

I bet you have all seen it with clearnet packages as well, so there can be outliers if this does happen. Do not be afraid if you see your package taking an unusual route, it will eventually get to you. Unfortunately, this does happen once in a great moon, it sucks, but it does happen

P.S. Get Informed Delivery! :D

All solid points, what additional points I would like to contribute:

1) Informed Delivery as mentioned, is KEY. I recommend after activating Informed Delivery, to go into your settings and toggle the additional notifications around each step of the delivery process (label created, en route, delivered) to be sent via email/text (depending on your preference). This gives you a better pulse on where your shipment is and when to expect it, all without the hassle of having to go to the USPS ID portal.

2) Although this post pertains primarily to USPS-related issues, it starts with YOU, the buyer. So Reason 0: Be sure to fill out your address details in a clear and concise format + in ALL CAPS. Tetrahedral & MB420 have put together a helpful guide: /post/61a18674c0b60b264c77/#c-bd4cf0813eee8f43bd that includes the USPS Zip Checker tool and confirms the formatting of your address to minimize issues.

3) As outlined on the DNM Bible, even if marked shipped, Vendors may not ship the actual parcel until another 1-3 days for opsec reasons. Some vendors (even long-standing reputable ones) have different approaches to shipping, this usually reflects in their escrow timelines as well.

4) Pay attention to Federal holidays. Juneteenth was a day off for USPS workers and we should expect the same with 4th of July, these can have an impact in your shipment timeline. Seasonality is also a culprit. November + December are busy months for USPS shipments due to season festivities. We should expect delays from increased volume, weather, and other factors that may shipping timelines.
Appreciate the effort!

Great post.

Since its creation, the USPS has a 99.95% to 99.99% success rate of package delivery (disregarding expected time frames) moving billions of items every week around the country. They hit a 98.1% on-time delivery rate where the item misses its expected delivery window but still makes it there. Only 0.05% to 0.01% of packages are lost in the system. *per ChatGPT.
Very interesting, I wonder if this accounts for packages that are stolen as well.

Per ChatGPT:

Nationally, about 17 % of Americans have had a package stolen in the past three months—and 44 % at some point in their lives
facts.usps.com +15 security.org +15 adoorn.com +15

That equates to roughly 1 in 6 households experiencing theft every quarter. When breaking down by carrier, approximately 18 % of reported package thefts involve USPS deliveries, compared to 33 % for Amazon, 17 % for FedEx, and 15.7 % for UPS. USPS internal data shows a steep increase in mail and package theft:

Blue collection box theft incidents climbed from ~38,500 in FY 2022 to over 25,000 in the first half of FY 2023 alone
ibat.org +12 uspsoig.gov +12 nbcsandiego.com +12
.
The U.S. Postal Inspection Service recorded nearly 600 robberies of postal workers in fiscal 2023—a sevenfold rise since FY 2019
the-sun.com +1 the-sun.com +1.

Putting it bluntly: porch piracy is a major issue—USPS delivers a significant share of stolen packages, and theft of mail and package content is trending upward sharply.

Summary metrics:

~17 % of Americans report package theft every three months.
USPS accounts for ~18 % of those thefts.
USPS-reported theft incidents and robberies of mail carriers have surged in recent years.
Thanks for elaborating on this! :)

I've realized that nothing is ever really lost with USPS, they're just slow, plain and simple. I get why it bothers buyers who are itching for their shit, but the solution is so fucking simple. ORDER EARLIER THAN YOU THINK YOU NEED TO. Before ordering anything I assume the wait is gonna be 5-6 days, so if Im running low and I know i only have enough to last me 9 days, im not gonna wait until last minute to place an order in the hopes that USPS will magically be fast and efficient again. That being said, vendors who mark things as shipped then sit on the item for 2-3 days are infuriating.

ORDER EARLIER THAN YOU THINK YOU NEED TO

Well said, we can control how fast things dispatch - but can not control USPS and i believe that applies to all vendors :)
Express is now priority and priority is now express mailing through USPS. Ground is welll.... long lol.

Always setup Informed Delivery, from the years I have been ordering on markets it was the smartest decision to have that setup, once I see the package show on there I know the package will come eventually, at the very longest usps had taken 12 days I believe but normally once I see it on Informed it comes in less than 4 days. USPS delays are unfortunate at times but they will always show up and SB will always make sure you are taken care of as well

This is extremely helpful information, which IMHO is worthy of a sticky on other subs, and can also be posted as a faq on a vendor's private store.

It should help minimize anxiety on the part of nervous, novice buyers, especially when they read the the wealth of dread-inducing posts on Dread about controlled deliveries. People tend to catastrophize! It's human nature.

When a delayed package finally arrives, the anxiety remains. When I was a noob, I was convinced that a DEA agent disguised as a postal inspector would leap out from behind a corner place me in cuffs. Et tu, Mr. McFeely? But I must've ordered over 100 packages on the DN and I've never had a package lost or seized, nor has their been an LE ambush. But I have good opsec and I make sure to order only from established vendors, like /u/snowbunni, with a reputation for stellar customer service, and who ships orders fast.

8. mailman straight up jacked your shit. this happened to me three damn times. the first time, i was not home, but suspected (since several other packs that had also been marked OFD at the same time landed uneventfully) the mailman had figured out what was in that particular package & decided to keep it. the second time an OFD pack went ghost despite normal mail delivery, i chased him out into the street & tapped him on the shoulder, he shat a brick right there on the sidewalk & turned over both my package & one he had stolen from my neighbors. the same guy then tried to do it AGAIN, with another package, but i had him intercepted at the post office (side note: why is it so difficult to get the phone number of an actual brick & mortar post office, rather than the national "USPS number"? probably bc of shit like this) & the package was delivered uneventfully the next day by a different carrier (i never saw the first dude again). the moral of the story: if you catch your mailman pulling shenanigans, acting like an outraged responsible citizen (Karen who would never order drugs just wants her knitting supplies or whatever) will probably get you what you want, as chances are you aren't the only person that mailman has ripped off. usps is so desperate for employees right now they will hire pretty much anybody, with all the quality (or lack thereof) that entails.

tl;dr little bunny foofoo gonna smack my bitch ass mailman UP

Great point. USPS will mark your pack as delivered before its..... delivered to avoid delays on their route. Sometimes it won't get delivered, but i have only seen this happen less than a handful of times throughout my DNM career... sorry to hear about your losses - but great point about USPS employment issues right now. Its blasted all over the clearnet.

It's always the vendors sitting on shit. Most of the delays come from vendors not the USPS. How many times have you seen shipping label created and no movement for a week or two. It's always the fucking vendor dragging ass.
Vendor either not dropping it when they mark it "shipped" or the pack is missing its initial acceptance scan, but two weeks on a priority mail pack is most likely your first answer - unless it is taking a crazy detour or they messed up your zipcode.

I can vouch for their support when there is an issue with orders!

I had an order get lost when they had computer issues and other shipping issues hit at the same time, and while it took a bit of time, (the computer issue meant they had lost all communication and records of the order other than the XMR transaction, which could be easy to overlook) the team made sure to fulfill the order, and sent way extra to make up for the trouble.

Other vendors may have just taken the easy route in this position and ripped off the customer. Snowbunni is one of the most honest vendors when it comes to making it right with the customer
I can vouch for their support when there is an issue with orders!

I think this is the first time i've seen a vouch for a support account. :D
