I am pretty sure Vito has been arrested. He posted here after 1 year saying "working on ddos" then went radio silent. There is no reason for him to exit scam now, especially not now when Archetyp refugees were migrating to Abacus.
The exit makes sense when you think about risk. With Archetyp being busted, a lot more law enforcement resources were going to be aimed at taking down abacus and obviously the people running the market know this. I'm sure they have already made a lot of money and are trying to exit now before they get busted in the future.
I saw 2 theroies that I think could be, but I know Jack shit so don't listen to me please!
One is that he was being extorted by a hackerz was laying l, until eventually he ghosted the hacker, and exit scammed bc he was tired of the Bullshit, the pressure, and the pressure of LE bc of the arch thing
The other one is similar but different, they got hacked, tried fixing it (the deposit issues or whatever), fixed it, hack happened again+ influx of users and money and everything. With again all the pressure from users and and never forget the arch thing and LE and he said fuck it im more than well off enough to live the rest of my life peacefully I don't need this shit n I don't wanna end up like hit boss
So basically it was an exit scam but not a planned one
Personally I prefer Vito running off with the money and living his best life than vito rotting in jail after everything good that he did for the community, and LE takes his money and used it to attack more markets and US buyers and also the vendors! Fuck that! Letting people take their money out and closing or exit scamming are the only 2 ways Im okay with a market ending, I look at an exit scam like it's the market owners pension or 401k or whatever lmao
bro, ive been reading everything here for years, many years, and I have lost so much money from markets going offline, monopoly, cypher, dark0de, connazon or whatever.. im tired boss...
if you were reading here for years you wouldn't have lost so much money. Those who pay attention lose very little to nothing, or at the very least only lose what they "can" lose
If you're a buyer, how much money have you actually lost? You should only ever keep like $5 on any market at any time. Maybe a lost shipment too here and there in the window of takedown, but you should have backup contacts for trusted vendors who would have shipped anyway to keep your business.
If you're a buyer only and you've "lost so much money" you're doing something wrong, BRO.
I think there seem to be a lot of buyers who are dealing IRL who pool all their money into a purchase each time and when it goes bust, their startup capital is wiped out.
B/c otherwise I'd agree with your sentiment. The issue I have is my personal usage gets fucked with when a market does this shit and i waste a day or two placing another order.
this exit pissed me off b/c it was done right before the 4th holiday which made the week esp tight to get an order in. I wish they'd have picked a normal non-holiday weekend to fucking exit scam. that's my main complaint
I hear you. My comment was kind of arm chair quarterbacking and being all "this is what you should do...." when I know that sometimes doesn't happen and we've all lost shit. I've been that person pooling money and ordering for all my friends on the markets, and then got phished or sent to a wrong wallet address or whatever. And now I am accountable to all my friends. So yea.
I think what we're seeing from all the Dread posts post-exits/takedowns is a lot of vendors doing personal shops, setting up better presence on here, getting direct deals. Personally, I have the contact information for all my favorite vendors to do off-market and we all love it. There is one vendor that went down with Arch that I can't find that I wish I had information for and who hasn't appeared on Drug Hub (the only market I will use at this point).
Yeah for sure, you weren't wrong. It just the perils of using all of your capital on a single deal. Whether it be leaving money on mkt wallets or putting it all in, its all a time game and we all get dinged. I got lucky during the previous 2 exit scams. Not so much on abacus. But it was just an order, not end of the world. Sux though.
I do bulk buys, I enter once every 3-6 months and order. My orders aren't small, I had the misfortune to use archetyp, bulk order, and next day goes bust. Then abacus the same. I don't keep thousands in wallet in a shop. I order thousands. This event has occurred to me not only with these two shops but with other older shops aswell. Its just bad timing every time somehow.
I also don't specifically go and contact my vendor because I know they lost the money aswell because it was in an escrow. And I will never deal off-market. I don't save my vendor on TG because thats a good way to be caught with the vendor.
I logged in yet again to say that I usually do bulk purchases, I log into the market, place 4-5 Orders in big amounts and log back out. Thats it. But now its happened to me 2 times in a row, where I place bulk orders and both sites go down and I receive nothing(Abacus, Archetyp).
Most DrugHub vendors are (i dont wanna say shit) but slow processing orders because they need to use the PGP Keys to encrypt/decrypt messages themselves.
we will send you to the Minnesota correctional facility so you can talk to him about why he did what he did, ill contact my CIA handlers to arrange this
I wouldn't say he was arrested. If he had been, law enforcement would have used all the Archetyp refugees to gather as much data as possible. But that didn't happen.
