VPN for Russia : CafeDread | Torhoo darknet markets

Does anyone know a VPN that s working in Russia?
Most major VPNs are getting blocked in Russia, but some are still working if you use obfuscation features or less common protocols. Try these:
  • ProtonVPN (Stealth/Smart Protocol)
  • Mullvad (uses obfs4 and WireGuard, no personal info needed)
  • Windscribe (has Stealth protocol & good track record in Russia)
  • IVPN (WireGuard & obfs4 bridges, solid privacy policy)
  • Outline VPN (good for DIY setups, less likely to get blocked)
  • Self-hosted (set up your own on a VPS outside RU, use WireGuard or OpenVPN with obfs4 or stunnel)

ProtonVPN actually still has a server in Russia, that’s the VPN I used before switching to Mullvad. Also, ProtonVPN’s Stealth protocol is less likely to get blocked since it’s obfuscated and designed specifically to bypass deep packet inspection.

If one gets blocked, try switching protocols or using obfs4 bridges. Good luck and stay safe.

This I don't know. I thought you just needed a text translated then I could do it.
For privacy, try LibreTranslate or self-hosted translation engines. Deepl is decent, but open-source tools are safer if you’re concerned about logging. You can also use any of these through Tor Browser for extra anonymity.

Hope that helps! If you need help with setting up a self-hosted translator, PM or Jabber me.

There are not a lot of options to use. Firstly, all of the major protocols that are used worldwide are blocked, so you can use only niche protocols that are more like a proxy protocol than a VPN protocol. Also, IP-addresses of many services are also blocked, so the only ways to have a VPN is to self-host it or find a niche service, but most of them are awful. I would recommend to you rent a VPS and use AmneziaVPN (WireGuard fork) or vless-reality, via the 3x-ui panel. It's not as hard as it sounds to be. I'm right now using a selfhosted AmneziaVPN on a VPS. It costs me like 600 rubles a month. I know, there are services that are much cheaper (some of them are under 100 rubles), but I have benefits from the referral system of my VPS provider, so I don't care :)

Why did you post this on dread? Better ask people on 2ch.hk/s or ntc.party and talk to Russians (clearnet!)

Check Kycnot(dot)me
Cyberghost is usually the preferred option.

Hello cilantr0,

could you answer please with a DM?
I messaged you, but you do not reply.
Apologies, here in Dread? Let me check
CyberGhost is popular for general use, but it’s not the best choice for Russia these days. It doesn’t offer strong obfuscation features like Stealth or obfs4, and it’s been reported as blocked pretty often. For bypassing Russian blocks, ProtonVPN (Stealth), Mullvad (obfs4), Windscribe (Stealth), and IVPN are more reliable.

If you do try CyberGhost, let us know if you get it working, info is changing fast!

Never ever use cyberghost VPN. They are known to cooperate with LE.

OP /u/specialuser999 another user recommended Outline that's one popular option to bypass in Russia. Russia global firewall is less restrictive than Chinas GFW but they often cooperate expect a ramp up in restrictions Russian region too. Others include more proxy oriented protocols like XTLS in most cases you would need to host on your own. Private OBFS4 can work too /post/5f1ba84246ac7d2f386f

Sorry but how are they known to cooperate with LE? You mean only in Romania, where they are based? Their policy says the only info they store is how the user paid, and the email address they use. They were independently audited by Deloitte who reviewed their servers and found zero data that could be traced back to a specific VPN account. I'm not saying that you're wrong at all, but I would love to know where that proof is as many of us use CG as a trusted one

Because Deloitte or any of the big 4 haven't ever been bribed. Auditing VPN companies is near impossible because they would have prepared beforehand to make you see what they want to and could turn on logs after you leave.

If you search up their name that should give you all the information you need, there's more than enough evidence to go around why nobody should be using or recommending Cyberghost.

Yea I see zero evidence that's why i asked. I didn't start using until 2022 when they did the report. Before that the site never even mentioned any audits people just trusted them. If you have a source please share

I can't spoon feed you. Search Cyberghost law enforcement, it's there. If you are on Dread, you should at least know how to do a basic search.

Does anyone know a VPN that’s working in Russia?

Yes but it depends entirely on what you're doing.

If you're just trying to access blocked websites or bypass Russian state censorship, some VPNs still work but most are heavily throttled or blocked.

If your use case involves fraud, darknet markets. your threat model is LE. In that case, basic VPNs won’t cut it.

  • Mullvad VPN is your best bet accepts Monero, no email required, supports obfs4 bridges for censorship resistance. Minimal metadata trail.
  • Tunnel through Tor bridges or Shadowsocks helps evade deep packet inspection and masks VPN use in high surveillance zones.
  • Rotate exit IPs and devices static behavior, repeated logins, or sticking to one location makes you trackable. Randomize and reset everything often.

What law enforcement looks for:

– VPN logs or provider cooperation under legal pressure
– IP time correlation (entry and exit)
– Timing analysis and session metadata leaks
– Traffic fingerprinting
– Behavioral linkage (mouse movement, time, language, commands)

Bottom line:
If your activity isn’t related to fraud. most basic VPNs will do fine for bypassing censorship or accessing content.
