What about monero being cracked in the future? : Monero | Torhoo darknet markets

Hello,

I'm seeing many people who move their dirty btc through monero and think they are 100% safe, while this is true for the moment....what about the future?
What about monero being broken and back traced like it was with BTC? Yes, I know BTC was never anonmyouse but back in the days no one could trace it.

Why all this BTC>XMR>BTC stuff and why not mix in a few more steps to really obfuscate your coins also for future machine learning?

Because if you know how the XMR blockchain works you will quickly find out that "mixing in a few more steps" as you said is completely useless. We are indeed not away from XMR being cracked but it won't happen before quantum computing comes common. But if XMR is actually cracked then more steps would be completely useless.

Hate to say it. But this dude is right. If Monero's bulletproofs are cracked then most zero knowledge systems would be broken as well in a similar time. This is why you should have a scorched earth policy when it comes to keeping records.

I wish i could give you more than one upvote dont keep records. Don't dispose of records in your trash bin either its entirely lawful to search your trash. Burn every trail that leads to you

Yes and so we need to threat XMR as already being cracked and able to traced, because LE has time. XMR becoming traceable within the next five years seems very possible so we should threat it like it's already broken.
Therefore when it comes to laundering, getting the funds in your bank account and pay a tax on it. XMR need to be exchanged to cash because cash is the only thing which is not traceable.
Then one have to get any kind of crypto for cash otherwise laundering will leave a paper trail forever and always which leads back to you.

I haven't heard the term 'scorched earth policy' before. I imagine that just means erasing your shit before they come knocking right? Haha

Yeah man, I believe we should treat monero like it will one day become traceable or something, even though, it does seem unlikely.

We are lot technologically and knowledgeably advanced nowadays. We know lots of shit we couldn't even think of back then. Although who knows what's bout to be discovered. My biggest fear is that blockchain is permanent.

Block chain is permanent think about how any people are running local nodes with the ENTIRE block chain downloaded....

Technology will move much faster in the next five years than it has in the previous five. It is inevitable for XMR to be cracked and with that, always be vigilant about what is to come next, and don't get to attached to any one method or process. For the only constant is change.
