What comes after dread and how to prepare? : CafeDread | Torhoo darknet markets

Nothing lasts forever and eventually, even dread will be offline for good at some point.
And it's best to assume the worst, lets assume that we won't know when, why and how dread will end. It could literally be tomorrow, so here's my question/thought experiment: How do we prepare today for what could technically happen any time? I really don't wanna spend hours on end scrolling through and posting on random onion forums with like 4 people actively posting where you don't know if it belongs to a fed or smth again, when the time comes, where I can't ask around on dread. I don't wanna loose access to all the awesome popular/reputable darknet users. I really love how easy and acessible this platform makes being part the tor network. I just love the way how you can instantly check, weather someone's a legit user/vendor/admin/mod/whatever or a scammer or fed or smth. And I believe most of you will want the darknet to keep being this wholesome place. So my proposal: we think of a really good plan b. Alternatively, we could try to decentralize this wholesome community, at least a bit, so in case dread does get seized, we still have each other.

Anyway, except for the title, you can basically ignore the whole post, I really wanted to ask this, but as you can see: I'm super high on the last speed I have, which I still ordered on archetyp.
Well, maybe take another thing seriously: I really love (most of) ya all for being the best and most wholesome online community I've ever been in <3
I"m already working on a primary, alternative, and contingency methods as we speak.

I suggest you do the same.

tbh: I'm just a random junkie with internet access, who discovered the tor network as a kid, I don't think there's a lot I can do.
like if you know about smth I could actually do to help in any way at all, lmk. but in the meantime I'll just try to keep exploring new or vastly unknown corners of the tor network, I'll share every- and anything usefull I can find.

but thanks for actually doing something usefull in that direction <3

Dread should make more Dreads like Marketplaces make more Marketplaces ;D

I feel like it was just yesterday that hb was on reddit talking about a new alternative called dread that was built in case reddit ever banned r/darknetmarkets the dread site was not used but everyone knew it was an option in case reddit dropped the ban hammer. We all know how that ended up...

dread shutting down would be a real blow to the english speaking community. i would expect most people to migrate to market forums until a suitable replacement is found. i personally couldn't imagine the current tor landscape without HugBunter.

I've thought about this pretty often. It's actually my main concern on the dark web. Markets come and go but there really is no other place like Dread.

My "Plan B" is basically forming as many off-Dread connections with trusted and reputable vendors and others on here so that we can continue our talks when (not if) Dread is taken offline.

I don't want it but it's a reality and nothing lasts forever like you said.

My main hope is that /u/Paris and /u/HugBunter have a carbon copy of Dread with someone else that can spin it up one day if they're gone. Any good organization in the real world has a thorough disaster recovery process documented and those two seem like they're good businessmen and have planned for that. But really, who knows.

Archetyp going down was a big hit. But losing Dread would be devastating.

There is i2p, and there are other paradigms where the same site could be hosted, but they need to be built and maintained and someone needs to be sufficiently motivated to do that. Some come for drugs and scams, but others think more about long-term liberty and safety..
