What do with the leftover amount in the wallet? : Monero | Torhoo darknet markets
When sending coins from wallet to another wallet or to an unsafe deposit adress, it is recommended not to send the exact amount as you purchased. What will you do with the leftover amount? Say you buy crypto worth 100$. You send 95 and 5 is leftover. What can you do with this? Send to another wallet or the same in another transaction?
i always tip out the vendor i am buying the product from. cuz i ensure to always keep my deposits extremely close to the true value of the product, so my "change" from the order is almost always sub $5. decent tip and good way to get the vendor to treat you well from the start tbh :L not that anyone here gives a shit, but here's how i estimate my deposits lol. likely over-engineered but who gives a fuck, no one said buying controlled substances should be math-free.
anyways...
i try to keep as little in my market wallets as possible due to loss of funds if market undergoes spontaneous unplanned disassembly while my money is there, which means i try to deposit almost exactly the correct amount for each order that i make. we all understand that there are essentially random fluctuations of crypto exacerbated by the seemingly longer-and-longer times modern markets take to confirm a deposit and the time it takes to swap crypto after fiat conversion to XMR because not many do direct FIAT to XMR -- usually middleman it via LTC or BTC because it is simply easier and more "official" on the books.
so with all that said, and a few retarded times where i missed the order amount by mere dollars (hell i was short by fucking 12 cents one time after all the deposit flucations and fees--and it was the very start of the day, so missed same day shipping. fucking devastating to my reality that day), i now know that i should over-estimate my deposit. i have my process down to a science and i literally have this in my notepad on my computer for reference:
so for a transaction where $100 XMR is required, i'd run $107.00 thru my process, because that is the max %loss (∨ ≈ –7.00%) that i've ever experienced in absolutely abysmal conditions. i typically only %lose around the mean (μ ≈ –3.50%), which would estimate that a $107 deposit would result in a $4.0125 loss on the deposit (average conditions), leaving me with a pretty $3.99 in my XMR wallet when the transaction is locked on-market, funded, and sent out to vendor.
this system works 'cause my largest orders are around $1000 USD, which if applied thru my process and expecting max %loss & realizing the true %loss was closer to the avg, then i'd have around $39.99 USD in my XMR wallet leftover -- which id say is pretty fuckin close to $1000 USD...
...better than missing it by 12 fuckin cents, lmao.
