monero considered anonymous now. crypto math is strong with current computation capabilities.
with quantum, it might be broken. quantum resistant monero blocks will be added only for future transactions. old transactions can be traced since it is public record.

private node is good against monero protocol message analysis. chainanlysis is not able to trace monero public blockchain records now.

1: buy xmr with another asset [ traceable now ]
2: xmr churn and other protections [ not traceable now ]
3: convert xmr to another asset [ traceable now ]

xmr protects against (2). other chains does not offer that protection. thats why xmr is preferred.
But if (2) is also traced in future for old transactions, then chainanalysis can connect (1) -> (2) -> (3)

MYST is a fairly new crypto that is developing an integrated tumbler using the liquidity pool during transfers. It was supposed to launch on the 22nd but had some issues an been delayed. Sucks they built on the ETH chain but it should migrate to something with less fees in the future.

Thanks for this info.
i am preparing a guide on Monero tracing opsec. i think any public block chain crypto should be converted from/to with non-crypto assets atleast one time to remove correlations. relying on crypto math in a public block chain is too much risk for extreme paranoia use cases.
