What motivates people to talk about their darknet activity? : OpSec | Torhoo darknet markets

Even in real life, I heard someone boast about it.

All busted poeple make very basic opsec mistakes and throw everything in the trash.
Some marketplace/forum owners got caught because of sharing their personal email addresses or use their real account for asking questions. (no idea why)

Do not talk about it. WHY?
BECAUSE NO ONE CARES.

All the idiots will get jealous of you and either tell someone else or turn you in.

Imagine thinking cazes got busted because he leaked his email address in the beginning LOL
He was into fraud way before he started alphabay. Stop believing anything feds tell you to.

Feds bust people and can't reveal their tricks as they bust people with illegal methods that they cannot and wont reveal as they want to keep using them. That is why they need to fabricate some basic reason for in front the court and media. You swallow what feds tell you like a lolipop.
LOL

I believe he is talking about breachforums.
There are many examples. Don't trust anything feds tell you, no matter the circumstances :)

The breachforums OpSec Is easily verifiable.
Have you seen anything about "breachforum" in the OP post? He references alphabay downfall and silkroad ones.

"Some marketplace/forum owners got caught because of sharing their personal email addresses"
Yes. Alexander Cazes aka the owner of AlphaBay.
I am not familiar with the story of breachforums. If it's similar story then the argument is valid. Don't trust anything leaked in the media or from feds.

He sent his Personal Email to another Forum owner to proof that a DB Breach was incomplete. This message was later made public after LE took down the Forum. The Forums DB including DMs is still floating around as it was leaked before the Takedown.
Oh you poor boy... :D it was made public LOL just like the cazes email was made public before the bust and people knew about it :D :D :D
You are extremely naive if you believe the owner of illegal business has provided his OWN email to someone else. Very very naive. Like extremely extremely naive :D :D :D

The email for cazes was 3yrs before his bust. It's still fake and gay. So the feds busted Alphabay because they found email that was published 3yrs ago just so they don't have to expose their actual way of busting cazes as it's illegal :)))

Think a little buddy.

The DB was not released by LE but as a act of Revenge. Way before LE was able to take down the Forum and arrest the Owner.

Please research the topic before calling anybody naive.
I am doing it. But you are watching youtube videos believing it's the reallity. It's not.
The DB was released by someone to act as revange and suddenly the email of the owner is there :D. You know whoever is leaking the DB can forge anything he wants, correct? Or you are not aware of that?

Literally same as Alphabay. Perhaps you should build some critical thinking yourself. Stop watching youtube. Start thinking.

This might just be the most retarded answer i have ever heard.
Research the topic and check it out for yourself.

Thank you.
use very secure services as a habit , maybe use some other platforms to talk with personal people or invite them to that.
still there are people never caught until now , think twice before entering anything ..
specially in chat rooms.

I talk about using anonymity/privacy tools irl to normalize it, I never mention what I do specifically and services I use. I also use darknet as an enthusiast, It by no means is necessary for my threat model.

Some people like to brag about it. Others, like you said, are just terrible at OPSEC. I've even seen some vendors include their private email address in their PGP key.

Indeed. Just shut your mouth and keep it to yourself. Nobody has to know what you are up to.
some people are too attached to their ego, so they can't stop talking

GOOD QUESTION. Forums are a great place to get misleading information. It cost NOTHING for LE to tank a dealer on the forums.

If you car to take the time to see a good case I can prove, just ask. I will show you

Whats worse is LE (FBI DEA USPSIS) creating subreddits on reddit to get people to talk on the clear net. That spot has more BS than truth!
