When converting BTC to XMR what is considered an average percentage to lose in the transfer? : Monero | Torhoo darknet markets

I am looking into the ways to convert BTC to XMR and atm I've found the average % the conversion cost loses is like 30-40% can that be correct??

More specifically am using Cake Wallet. Any feedback is appreciated including what is the best method or app/site to do the conversion that minimizes the amount lost/cost in conversion.

You’re definitely getting fleeced if you're losing 30–40% on BTC to XMR swaps. Cake Wallet itself isn't the issue, it's usually the third-party exchange service it's hooked into like ChangeNOW or SideShift. Some of those platforms crank up the spread and fees during volatility or low liquidity periods.

Take a look at kycnotme for exchanges if you're cool with P2P and a little more effort, or grab a fixed-rate offer. Expect to lose 2–6% normally, 10% tops during peak congestion. If you’re losing more than that, back out and wait.

I'm not sure what the issue was in looking at it again. It's giving me figures now that are much closer to parity. As you mentioned it could even be a bit more I would hope to see. Thanks for the information!

You can always use UnstoppableSwap:

https://unstoppableswap.net

It is atomic swap so you can't lose your funds and no KYC, right now fees are 2-3%

Do you freeze or seize funds gained from illegal activity such as dark web vending or ransomware when trying to swap BTC to XMR?

We do not freeze coins. If an address involved in the swap is flagged as suspicious, the swap simply won’t start, as we’ve implemented an address blacklist checker. While we do not welcome illegal activity, we also have no control over who uses the website.

In the worst case scenario, if an issue is detected, the funds will be refunded within a maximum of 72 hours.

Due to provider requirements, we temporarily store minimal metadata (IP address, browser fingerprint, date, and OS) for 30 days.

I am interested, so you don't have your own XMR/BTC reserves, but rather you use 3rd party liquidity providers/exchange services? Who is that company?
