The answer to your first question is both, mate.

Tor itself is not dangerous when used properly.. There are dangerous sites, some overtly malicious and some sneakily malicious.

Millions and millions of people use Tor everyday just to be able to communicate with friends and family. You are in the 2.7% of Tor with the mentality that the darknet is equal to Tor.

There are some awful countries in this world. It's not a fair place. If you have freedom, be grateful.

There are so many countries that don't have the luxuries other do. Millions of people use Tor to read "outside" news". Millions of people use Tor to connect with friends and family through Facebook and WhatsApp. The darknet doesn't even make-up 3% of the Tor Network. But because *we* are here we think this is all there is.

I do not know about your life, where you live, or anything. But in your mind, you conceive the reality as you see it around you. If you were to go to an third world country and be faced with the fact that there is no clean water a new perspective would flood your reality.
