Not a vendor so i can't speak to the literal reason for this but I assume wtih these superlist makers being around for so long, people get complacent and assume its a safe place to keep the XMR until they feel a need to withdraw it. Guess they were treating it like a sort of wallet. Some dude was talking about losing 30k in funds on his arch account. Don't know why you'd let 30k sit in on a DNM for a prolonged period of time.

You were vendor and you ask silly question. Some vendors have 30+ orders daily. Small, medium, big, bulk. Escrow Finalize for example 7 days.
You sent parcels - market is going to be offline - you lost money in escrow. Nobody leave money on market because want to do it - it is because of market rules. I think it should be changed asap and new regulations should be improved.

Markets without vendors can not exists. Vendors should put pression and change something because it is stupid as fuck that we lost tousands of dollars because someone could not hide service and protect people money and get caught or someone decided to steal money and go away.

i know some vendors that lost 100k before. it all depends on what kind of volume your doing how many orders are in escrow etc... i will FE with trusted vendors so they get there money quicker.

escrow builds if you are doing 10k+ in orders a week or day then you lost 10k+ in product plus the money while waiting for people to release funds

We dont but escrow holds it and market holds escrow if escrow released market has to still send money to vendor only vendor at point can send product to buyer.

In alot of cases, it's unavoidable. If you only make orders for personal amounts, I understand your confusion. But when you're buying to sale, you have a massive amount of monero on every available(trusted) market. It's impossible to avoid really.

Possibly a lot of vendors don't know how to set up a private wallet with tails and featherwallet. Or end up using a public wallet instead of downloading the blockchain locally. Btw if anyone wants a remote monero wallet completely anonymous on Tails feel free to send me a pm.
