Why We Ditched Aggregators and What’s Next : XMRGlobal | Torhoo darknet markets
We have permanently shut down all swap services through aggregators. The reason is simple: they are a direct threat to user privacy and security. These services are black boxes, nobody knows how they handle logs, how much metadata they collect, or if they already collaborate with AML systems or law enforcement agencies. Using them is gambling with your anonymity, and we refuse to keep relying on them.
We are building a replacement system, but it will work completely differently. Instead of aggregators, we will operate like a store. We will pre-fund BTC and LTC addresses with clean coins, and users will be able to purchase the full balance of these addresses (minus network fee and our fee). Once an address is sold, it will never be used again. This means no reused addresses, no change outputs, and no easy-to-follow trails between old and new owners. Every transaction remains isolated, which makes tracing significantly harder.
Users will also be able to sell BTC, LTC, and XMR to us or to others, but there are strict requirements. BTC and LTC addresses must be brand new with zero sent transactions in their history. The only transaction present should be the one where coins were received. These addresses will also be checked to ensure they are not flagged by any AML or LEA systems. Anything suspicious or already exposed will be rejected without discussion. Available pairs will include XMR to BTC, XMR to LTC, and BTC or LTC to XMR.
We have also made changes to the login system. The user ID at login was pointless, so it has been removed. Users now log in with their PGP key only. New users will be assigned a random user ID at registration, which they can change only once, from their account settings. After that, it will be locked. Existing users keep their current user IDs unchanged.
Another important change is that cleartext messaging is no longer possible at all. "Autoencrypt" has been removed, all messages, whether between users or with administration, must be encrypted with PGP. The system enforces PGP, so there is no way to send or receive unencrypted content. If you are not already proficient with PGP, now is the time to learn.
This isn’t about making things easier. It’s about removing weak points before they compromise us all. Aggregators were a liability and had to go. The new system will be stricter and safer, not perfect!
