XMR question : Versus | Torhoo darknet markets

Just made my first XMR payment and think all is well :) I do wonder why it finalizes early. I understand why multi sig wouldn't work with XMR, but why not allow more time and the option to extend finialization with XMR? I know Versus encourages people to use multi sig, but they also link to and encourage reading the DN bible. The DN bible strongly encourages XMR. The finalize early with XMR seems like it would discourage people from using XMR. Wouldn't we all be safer if we were to use XMR exclusively? Thanks in advance!

the way wallets work in versus are different, so there's no escrow for XMR is how i understand it.
it's why we specify a refund address. there's no escrow wallet.
use a trusted vendor for XMR and you should be fine.
