You Are Not Alone: There Are 296 MILLION of Us : DrugUsersBible | Torhoo darknet markets

From The UN’s World Drug Report 2023:
"In 2021, 1 in every 17 people aged 15–64 in the world had used a drug in the past 12 months. The estimated number of users grew from 240 million in 2011 to 296 million in 2021 (5.8 percent of the global population aged 15–64). This is a 23 per cent increase, partly due to population growth."
You are not a freak, you are not an aberration and you are not alone.

Never allow the perpetrators of the drug war to make you to feel that you don’t have millions upon millions of peers. We are a significant minority…

... but always practise harm reduction, and stay safe.

I'm guessing those stats are for the "illegal" drugs and don't include the various legal substances which can be much more harmful to people and have a much higher percentage of usage.

You're probably correct, mate. Acceptable drugs such as nicotine and alcohol won't be reflected in the estimates, imo.

They like to pretend that drugs like alcohol and caffeine are not really drugs. :-)

For sure, can you imagine if alcohol got discovered now.. there would be news headlines about this new evil drug that makes people aggressive and causes lots of fights, makes them clumsy and injure themselves, with both of those having lots of hospital admissions every weekend.. and then if people take too much over time, they die.

Something silly that I have come to terms with over the past few years is that alcohol is the only drug that you have to explain to people why you don't do it. Also, during my more sober moments realized many of my friends are boring and drinking is basically a social lubricant and fortunately some overdo it. That said, it's really bad on the body, and pretty toxic ...once you get into your 40-50s your doctor is gonna tell you stop or you'll be sorry and if you don't listen, you're gonna be at a hospital waiting for a liver transplant. Hence why I decided to not to put myself in that position, yet I still have to explain my behavior as people assume there's something wrong with me.

Quick copy paste from Co-Pilot Chat?GPT4.

According to the latest data from the World Health Organization (WHO), **around 2.4 billion people** aged 15 and older consumed alcohol in 2022. This represents a significant portion of the global adult population.

As for tobacco use, the WHO reports that there were approximately **1.25 billion adult tobacco users** worldwide in 2022. This includes smokers as well as users of other tobacco products.

So based on this info you could say at least 30% of people alive have use a hard drug (alcohol is independently categorized as a hard drug by many different objective researchers)
